Ninepoint launches innovative Ninepoint Target Income Fund supported by RBC QiS (ETF Ticker: TIF)

With portfolio income ever harder to produce, we're pleased to introduce a defensive equity strategy that is similar to, but more convenient than structured notes: the Ninepoint Target Income Fund.

This is a single solution that eliminates the need to manage the multiple maturities and expiries of structured notes, while providing daily liquidity in a traditional mutual fund structure – so it's available to all investors.

The strategy is supported by RBC QiS, leveraging RBC Capital Markets’ diversified, systematic put selling strategies on multiple equity indices.

Whether you're currently taking advantage of structured notes or not, you'll appreciate the simplicity of the Ninepoint Target Income Fund and its 6% target income distribution.*

* The monthly distribution amount may be adjusted by the Manager without notice throughout the year as market conditions change. Monthly distributions will be comprised of net income, net realized capital gains and/or return of capital. Any net income and/or net realized capital gains earned by the Fund in excess of the monthly distribution will be distributed to unitholders annually in December.

Ninepoint Private Debt Funds receive a positive vote on new structure

On June 15, 2022, Ninepoint announced substantial unitholder support with the approval of the proposed structure changes for the Ninepoint Canadian Senior Debt Fund, Ninepoint Monroe U.S. Private Debt Fund, and Ninepoint Monroe U.S. Private Debt Fund - Canadian $ Hedged (“the Funds”).

Unitholders have voted for the new changes to each respective Fund that we believe improves each Fund's structure and aligns those structures with global players in the private credit space.

Effective June 30, 2022, the Funds, which have continued to be actively managed and have continued to pay distributions, re-opened for purchases and redemptions. For full details, please refer to the Funds’ Offering Memorandums (links above) or contact your Ninepoint Product Specialist.

5 Factors Driving Alt Investing in Wealth Management

An interesting U.S. study of 300 financial advisors, conducted during the 2022 Morningstar Conference, suggested that there are five key factors driving the growth of alternatives across wealth management, including:

  1. Changing investor attitudes and appetites - Lower confidence in public markets and 60/40 allocations is resulting in greater interest alternative asset classes.

  2. Greater access for individual investors - Alternatives are becoming more accessible to a broader range of investors.

  3. Questions around what makes an accredited investor - A growing consensus that the definition of "accredited investor" needs to be updated.

  4. Increased availability of user-friendly tools and technology - Technology is contributing to lessening the high levels of administration and paperwork associated with alts.

  5. Bespoke alt strategies and products - As interest and access to alts growth, the range of products suitable to retail investors has grown.

  6. Easy access to better education and deep-dive data - More asset management firms are dedicating resources to help educate their financial advisors on the topic of alts.
